Firm Overview

Momjian Anderer, LLC concentrates its practice in family law, handling a wide variety of cases involving domestic relations. These include all aspects of divorce, valuation and property distribution, child custody and relocation, child support and alimony, as well as premarital and postnuptial agreements, paternity and domestic violence, and enforcement and special relief issues. The firm also handles a variety of other matters that involve psychology and law, including civil competency cases (including guardianship and capacity to execute wills), psychological and neuropsychological damages, civil commitment, duty-to-warn and licensing complaints against mental health professionals.

Our attorneys have handled pioneering cases in Pennsylvania, including successfully defending the constitutionality of the Grandparents' Visitation Act before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, successfully arguing the first appellate case in the United States in which a non-biological parent was directed to pay child support to her former domestic partner, and representing a spouse who received one of the highest support awards in the Commonwealth.  We have represented clients in the upper echelons of the business, professional, sports and entertainment communities and their spouses, and we understand the complex compensation and valuation issues that arise in their cases.  We also appreciate the particular discretion such representation demands.

We pride ourselves on being at the cutting edge of family law, and we have attorneys who specialize in the area of same-sex marriage (including domestic partnerships and civil unions), reproductive technology, electronic surveillance, and social media/networking issues.  One of our attorneys has a doctoral degree in psychology in addition to his law degree, which training is particularly useful in dealing with the emotional issues attendant to separation and divorce, and in complex child custody cases involving custody evaluations and psychological testing.

Our goal is to resolve our clients' matters amicably and cost-effectively, whether it is through direct settlement negotiations, mediation, or arbitration.  However, when that is not possible, we zealously advocate on our clients' behalves, and we have considerable experience before Pennsylvania's family court judges and masters.  Our attorneys also have handled many appellate disputes before the Commonwealth's Superior and Supreme Courts.

Our attorneys have been recognized in Best Lawyers in America and as Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Rising Stars.  We hold leadership roles in our bar associations.  Our attorneys have written a leading treatise on Pennsylvania family law, seminal publications on competency determination and law for mental health professionals, and scores of articles for national and local law reviews, journals, and newspapers.  We frequently lecture on family law topics for professional organizations, law schools, and other educational institutions.

We have represented clients in more than twenty-five judicial districts throughout the Commonwealth, and we have served as consultants and have been admitted pro hac vice in other states.
